Nita graduated from Calcutta University, India, in 1985, which was followed by her taking a Masters Degree (MDS) in Oral Pathology from Mangalore University in 1989. Her involvement in an Oral Cancer Research programme led to a thesis on Numerical Quantification of Dysplastic features in Oral Premalignant and Malignant Lesions.

She then furthered her training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at some of the country’s leading NHS hospitals and institutions for five years, gaining wide experience and understanding in various surgical procedures and their management. She studied for and received her prestigious Fellowship FDSRCS (Eng) in 1997. This culminated in her entry into the General Dentistry Council’s specialist list of Oral Surgery in 1998.

She started working as General Dental Practitioner in the NHS with a special interest in Oral Surgery and Implant surgery from 1998 and in April 2002 became the owner and Principal Practitioner at The North Street Dental and Implant Clinic. Today she runs her own Dental Implant clinic along with cosmetic dentistry and is keenly interested in Guided Bone Regeneration Techniques to preserve bone architecture as well as its help in Implant surgery.

She is a member of Association of Dental Implantology, has an active interest in adult Orthodontics and is a provider of SixMonthSmiles.

​

Married with a daughter-who is currently pursuing her Dental degree at London’s Kings College, Nita’s husband is an orthopaedic surgeon and is also involved in running the Facial Aesthetic part of the North Street Clinic.

When not in the clinic she loves to travel and is keenly interested in British and Indian history. She is also involved in running two successful restaurants and two care homes which keep her busy during her spare time.
